“A key aspect of my work is to challenge my patients in a way that promotes growth and fosters resilience.”
Collette Gibbons, PMHNP, FNP
Hello! I am a dual-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) providing integrative, patient-centered mental health care for children (6+), adolescents, and adults.
I believe mental health treatment should address the whole person — mind, body, and lifestyle. My approach combines evidence-based psychiatric medication management with holistic strategies such as sleep optimization, stress reduction, mindfulness, and nutrition-informed care. When appropriate, I focus on thoughtful deprescribing, helping patients safely reduce or simplify medications while building sustainable wellness habits.
My clinical interests include trauma, grief and loss, mood instability, and woman’s mental health. With more than 25 years of healthcare experience in primary care, internal medicine, outpatient psychiatry, and chronic disease management, I bring a comprehensive and practical perspective to mental wellness.
I earned my master’s degree in Family Health from Vanderbilt University and my Post-Master’s Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health from Robert Morris University.
I am an advocate for community mental health and actively contribute as a board member at Outreach Teen and Family Services. My main goal is to reshape the way we think about mental health, breaking down the stigma and building a practice that focuses on understanding, and not judgement.
